Ann Heirman, Ph.D. (1998) is a Professor at Ghent University (Belgium), where she teaches Classical and Buddhist Chinese and heads their Department of Buddhist Studies. Her research focuses primarily on the development of the Vinaya in Ancient and Medieval China.
