This is a five-part lecture series briefly introducing Jayatilake’s Early Buddhist Theory of Knowledge.

The main topics of each lecture are:

  1. The historical background of non-Buddhist thought at the time of the Buddha
  2. The Buddha’s critique of those existing epistemological attitudes
  3. The uses and limits of logic
  4. The role of authority and reason on the path
  5. The limits of knowledge
